Rehabilitative Programs and Physical Therapy

Physical therapy and hip rehabilitation are often a valuable part of Dr. Bharam’s multidisciplinary approach. PT not only can help patients heal, it can often help identify the injury or a hidden condition. It is designed to:

  • Improve function of the hip joint
  • Increase the joint’s range of motion
  • Strengthen surrounding muscles
  • Reduce stiffness while increasing flexibility
  • Decrease inflammation

At a minimum, the patient should be able to stand, balance, walk and climb stairs after the therapy regimen is complete. Athletes and other active individuals typically have more aggressive goals, however. In those cases, Dr. Bharam works with therapists to create a physical therapy program that will bring the patient back to previous levels of performance.
